DSNY Special Leaf Collection Fall 2022

The NYC Department of Sanitation will be collecting fall leaves as part of a special leaf collection on Sunday, November 20th and Sunday, December 4, 2022. Residents are asked to set out leaves curbside in paper lawn and leaf bags or unlined bins after 4 PM on the Saturday before collection date, for pickup that evening or the following morning.
All the bags we had have been claimed. Leaf bags are no longer available.
Guidelines:

- Collect leaves in paper lawn & leaf bags or in unlined rigid containers
- Set out leaves for collection at the curb after 4 pm on the dates indicated above
- Leaves, grass, branches, and yard clippings generated by hired professionals cannot be set out for curbside collection. Professionals must dispose of the materials they generate at a permitted composting facility.

Residents can pick up free paper lawn and leaf bags while supplies last at events in their neighborhood. Leaf bag distribution events will be announced in the fall. Brooklyn CB14 will be distributing free leaf bags on a first come, first served basis to residents of our district. leaf bag pickup will take place closer to special collection dates.
