NYC PROPERTY TAX REFORM
Managing Agency: NYC Property Tax Reform Commission
Location: Citywide
Project Description: The city’s Advisory Commission on Property Tax Reform has resumed public hearings on preliminary tax reform recommendations. Public testimony will help inform the agency’s final report due in late 2021.

PARKSIDE AVENUE BICYCLE LANE

Location: Parkside Avenue (Park Circle to Ocean Avenue)
Project Description: The addition of a dedicated bicycle lane on Parkside Ave would add a third protected bike lane bordering Prospect Park in Brooklyn.

AVENUE H BRIGHTON STATION ADA PROJECT

Project Description: Installation of an ADA-accessible ramp on the Manhattan-bound platform.

NYC RENT GUIDELINES REFORM

Project Description: The NYC Rent Guidelines Board will hold public hearings and accept comments on proposed rent guidelines which will be finalized and published during summer 2021.

NYC FIRE DEPARTMENT FIRE CODE AMENDMENT

Project Description: FDNY held a public forum on June 15, 2021 to hear public comments on proposed 2021 New York City Fire Code, following a three-year review of the NYC code, with respect to the International Fire Code, and with the participation of real estate, architectural and engineering societies, trade associations, public utilities, in consultation with NYC City Council and the Department of Buildings.

NYC BUILDING CODE AMENDMENT

Project Description: The Committee on Housing and Buildings held a hearing on June 14, 2021 to hear legislation amending administrative codes of the city of New York such as the plumbing code, building code, mechanical code and fuel gas code, in relation to bringing such codes and related provisions of law up to date with international codes, with differences that reflect the unique character of the city, clarifying and current updates.
