Regarding: Temporary Project Suspension (July 2014-July 2015.)
DOT / July 2014: The construction activities at the Ocean Avenue bridge project were suspended due to additional unforeseen field conditions which were discovered recently by the survey team. The information provided to the engineer during their design phase from the archived original plans circa 1900, does not match the dimensions at the bridge. Therefore, the Engineer needs to redesign the bridge’s structural deck.  The estimated completion date was January 2015, however has changed due to Con Edison’s transferring of power between temporary conduits. The current completion date is now estimated for December 2015.
