 SPECIAL PERMITS: Applications for Special Permits have been filed with the Board of Standards and Appeals (BSA), pursuant to Zoning Resolution of the City of New York §73-622, to enlarge single or two-family detached or semi-detached residences within the designated R-2 district bounded by Avenue I, Nostrand Avenue, Kings Highway, Avenue O and Ocean Avenue in Community Board 14 in the Borough of Brooklyn.

SPECIAL ORDER CALENDAR (SOC): A Special Order Calendar (SOC) application has been filed with the Board of Standards and Appeals (BSA), pursuant to §§72-01 and 72-22 of the Zoning Resolution of the City of New York, to amend the previously granted by the Board of Standards and Appeals Variance, seeking to enlarge the Premises to include infill storage space and compactor area.

POTENTIAL COMMUNITY RESIDENCE:  In compliance with Section 41.34 of the New York State Mental Hygiene Law, Human Care Services for Families and Children, Inc. and the New York State Office For People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) have submitted an application for a potential Community Residence to be located at 1724 Ocean Avenue, 3rd Floor, between Avenue L and Avenue M within Community District 14.

The residence for four (4) young adult males, who are experiencing mild to moderate impairment in their intellectual abilities, will be in a third floor three-bedroom apartment located in a three-story brick detached house. Each individual will attend an adult day program six hours a day and/or participate in work program. There will be supervisory and residential staff on duty at the residence, with recreational  and community based activities planned for evenings and weekends. A neighborhood advisory committee will be established so there can be meaningful interactions between the community and the sponsoring organization.
