(3) POTENTIAL COMMUNITY RESIDENCE: FEGS Health and Human Services and the New York State Office For People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) have submitted an application a for a potential Community Residence to be located at East 22nd Street at the northeast corner of Duryea Place within Community District 14, in compliance with Section 41.34(e)(2) of the New York State Mental Hygiene Law. The proposed Community Residence will be located in an eight (8)-bedroom, two-story house to be constructed for up to nine (9) adults, who are experiencing moderate/profound impairment in their intellectual abilities. The program will provide supervisory and residential staff on duty 24 hours a day, who will care for each resident and develop plans to enhance their personal skills. A neighborhood advisory committee will be established so that there can be a meaningful liaison between the community and FEGS.
